# About Helious

Helious is a live US market news service for people who trade rates.
It watches the wires, the Treasury, the statistical agencies and the Fed, and publishes the number the moment it
lands: the economic release with its surprise against consensus, the auction with its tail and bidder split, the
yield curve with a named regime. Reading it is free.

## Every US economic release, scored against forecast

When CPI, nonfarm payrolls or GDP crosses, Helious does not just repeat the number. It compares
the print to consensus, sizes the surprise against how far that series normally misses, and puts the market
reaction beside the headline. Every indicator keeps a permanent page with its release schedule, forecast, prior,
full history and a CSV download. Start with [the next CPI release date](https://helious.io/data/cpi),
    [nonfarm payrolls](https://helious.io/data/nonfarm-payrolls),
    [US GDP release dates](https://helious.io/data/gdp), or

## Treasury auction results in seconds

Helious posts the result of every US Treasury auction within seconds of the wire: the tail or
stop-through in basis points, bid-to-cover against its own twelve-auction average, the indirect, direct and dealer
split, and a one-word verdict of strong, in line or weak. Each tenor keeps a permanent page with years of history
and a CSV. See [10-year Treasury note auction results](https://helious.io/auctions/10-year-note),

    *03*Schedule

## The auction schedule and the week ahead

Every tenor page carries the date of its next auction, so the schedule is not a PDF you have to
hunt down. The calendar shows the coming week of US releases and auctions with the time in ET, the forecast, the
prior and the live result as it lands, and past weeks stay online at a permanent URL. See the
    [Treasury auction schedule](https://helious.io/auctions),
[this week's US economic calendar](https://helious.io/calendar) and
    [the next FOMC meeting](https://helious.io/fomc).

## Yields, the curve regime and Fed speakers

The rates board carries the whole US Treasury curve with the day's move in basis points, the
2s10s and 3m10y spreads, and a named regime: bull steepener, bear flattener and the other two, with a deadband so a
rounding error is never called a trend. Fed speakers are tracked hawkish to dovish as they talk. See
    [Treasury yields and the curve](https://helious.io/rates),
    [the 2s10s spread](https://helious.io/learn/2s10s-spread) and
    [Fed speakers](https://helious.io/fed).

## How the desk works

Helious is machine-captured and methodology-governed. Data pages are
generated by the capture pipeline from primary sources: the Bureau of Labor
Statistics, Bureau of Economic Analysis, US Census Bureau, TreasuryDirect and the
Federal Reserve, not rewritten from other outlets. Every number on an indexable page
traces to a primary source, and every scored read follows the published rules on our
    [methodology page](https://helious.io/methodology).
    Nothing here is investment advice.

## FAQ

What is Helious?Helious is a live US market news service. It scores every US economic release against consensus the second it prints, publishes Treasury auction results within seconds of the wire, tracks the yield curve and Fed speakers, and carries a live audio squawk. Reading it is free, with no card.Where can I find US Treasury auction results today?Helious publishes every US Treasury auction result within seconds of the wire: the tail or stop-through in basis points, bid-to-cover against its twelve-auction average, the indirect, direct and dealer split, and a strong, in line or weak verdict. Each tenor has a permanent page with years of history and a CSV download. See [10-year note auction results](https://helious.io/auctions/10-year-note) or [every tenor we cover](https://helious.io/auctions).When is the next Treasury auction?Every tenor page shows the date of its next auction alongside the last result, and the [calendar](https://helious.io/calendar) lists auctions beside economic releases for the week ahead. Treasury announces sizes and dates in advance, and Helious carries the same schedule without the PDF, updated as each new announcement lands. What is an auction tail? The tail is the gap between the high yield an auction stops at and the when-issued yield trading just before the deadline, quoted in basis points. A positive tail means buyers demanded a higher yield than the market expected, so demand was soft. A stop-through is the opposite: the auction cleared through the market. More on the [auction tail](https://helious.io/learn/auction-tail).When is the next CPI or GDP release? Each indicator keeps a permanent page with its release schedule, the exact time in ET, the consensus forecast, the prior value and the full history. CPI prints at 8:30 AM ET in the middle of the month and GDP at 8:30 AM ET on its quarterly schedule. See [CPI](https://helious.io/data/cpi), [GDP](https://helious.io/data/gdp) or [every indicator we track](https://helious.io/data).What does it mean to score a release against forecast?Helious compares the actual print to the consensus forecast, then measures that miss against how far the series normally deviates, so a 0.1 miss on a quiet indicator is not treated like a 0.1 miss on CPI. The result is a signed surprise score, published with the market reaction beside the headline. The rules are on the [methodology page](https://helious.io/methodology).Is Helious free?Yes. Reading Helious is free and needs no card, with the public news feed running an hour behind live. A free account adds saved layouts, alerts and an API key with thirty days of history. Live data through the API and the MCP server starts at $14.99 a month, and $39.99 adds the live screen and squawk audio. See [what it costs](https://helious.io/pricing).Can an AI assistant or agent use Helious data?Yes. Helious runs a REST API, an MCP server with 20 tools, an A2A agent card and OAuth 2.1, so an assistant can request an auction result or a release surprise directly rather than scraping a page. Sample access needs no key. See [the API](https://helious.io/developers/) and [Helious for AI agents](https://helious.io/ai/).
