# CB Consumer Confidence: release dates, results and history

CB Consumer Confidence last printed 81.9 on Tue, Sep 29, 2026 against a 89.2 consensus forecast and a 89.4 prior, a -1.4 standard-deviation surprise. Captured live by Helious the moment it printed.

The Conference Board index leans on how people see the job market. One line inside it is the spread between 'jobs plentiful' and 'jobs hard to get', and plenty of people watch that spread as a leading indicator for the unemployment rate. Michigan skews toward inflation and household finances instead, so the two surveys cover different ground. When the expectations component drops hard, spending has tended to slow afterwards.

## How it moves Treasuries

A beat is mildly bearish Treasuries, because a confident consumer keeps spending. When the argument in the market is about jobs, the labor differential subindex can move rates more than the headline does. See it scored live on the [Helious desk](https://helious.io/),
