# JOLTS Job Openings: release dates, results and history

JOLTS Job Openings last printed 7.08M on Tue, Sep 29, 2026 against a 7.23M consensus forecast and a 7.27M prior, a -0.68 standard-deviation surprise. Captured live by Helious the moment it printed.

The Fed reads JOLTS for labor demand before anything else, and Powell will name the openings-to-unemployed ratio out loud. It runs a month behind the other jobs data and still moves markets, because when the Fed talks about 'labor market rebalancing', this is the report it means. The quits rate sits inside it, the share of workers who leave a job voluntarily, and quits tend to turn before wage growth does.

## How it moves Treasuries

More openings than expected is bearish for Treasuries, because tight labor demand is the Fed's reason to keep waiting. Openings coming down does the opposite and bonds rally. And it lands at 10 AM, into a fully staffed, liquid market. See it scored live on the [Helious desk](https://helious.io/),
