Learn: A Daily Lesson, a Streak and the Boxes It Opens

Learn is the lesson tab inside Ask Helious, and the LEARN button in the terminal header opens it full size. Every market day there is one lesson for equities and one for Treasuries. Each is a worked example of how and why that market moved today, written from the same live data Ask Helious answers on, followed by three questions with three choices each. After every pick you are told the right answer and why, with a link to the page on Helious where you can see it.

What a lesson covers

The questions rotate through a curriculum of market mechanics: order types and order flow, the bid-ask spread, what markets you can trade and the futures that track them, volatility, correlations, the carry trade, how oil reaches stocks and Treasuries, hawks and doves, price stability and the dual mandate, Fed regimes, the dot plot, steepeners and flatteners, curve inversion, term premium, duration, auction tails, issuance and the Treasury's cash balance, breakevens, SOFR against fed funds, the inflation measures, the jobs report and sigma surprises. At least one question a day uses a figure from today's data, so no two days are the same. Every third day one question teaches something Helious tracks, such as the jobs board, the inflation board, Treasury issuance, the rate path or the Strait of Hormuz transits, with the link to it.

The streak

Finishing a lesson counts the day toward your streak, whatever the score. The streak counts market days only, Monday to Friday: a lesson on Friday carries it to Monday, and a weekend never breaks it. A weekend lesson is there if you want it and is scored, but it neither extends nor breaks the streak. A missed market day restarts the streak at one, unless you hold a streak shield, which forgives exactly one missed day. The flame beside LEARN shows the streak, and the button glows until today's lesson is done. The day rolls at midnight UTC.

The boxes

At 3, 7, 14, 30, 60 and 100 days, and every 50 days after that, the lesson ends with three boxes. You pick one, and then you see what the other two held. A box holds Ask Helious questions, a streak shield, or, on the Free plan from day 7, a one-use code for a discount on the monthly Pro plan. Paying accounts are never offered a discount: their boxes hold questions, including a gold box with double, or a shield.

Questions won on a paid plan never expire and are used after your plan credits. Questions won on the Free plan last three days, and are yours to keep if you upgrade to Pro before they lapse. A discount code is for the account that opened the box, is good for 14 days, and is entered at checkout on the monthly Pro plan.

Where it lives

LEARN sits in the terminal header beside AFFILIATES, with the flame and your streak next to it, and opens the lesson full size. Inside Ask Helious the same lesson is the Learn tab beside Ask. On a phone, open Ask Helious from the launcher and tap Learn.

FAQ

Does a lesson cost a credit?

No. Lessons are free on every plan, Free included. Credits are what the boxes give you, not what the lessons cost.

Do I need to get the questions right to keep the streak?

No. Finishing the three questions counts the day. Learning is the point, and the right answer is explained after every pick.

What happens to my streak at the weekend?

Nothing. The streak counts Monday to Friday. A Friday lesson carries it to Monday, and a weekend lesson is extra.

Can I do both tracks in one day?

Yes. The second track is scored like the first, but the day only counts once toward the streak.

Why did my free questions disappear?

Questions won from a box on the Free plan last three days. Upgrade to Pro before they lapse and they are yours to keep.
