Industrial Production: release dates, results and history
The latest official Industrial Production figure is +0.02% against a +0.2% prior. The next release is Friday, October 16, 2026 at 9:15 AM ET. Captured live by Helious the moment it printed.
The G.17 is the Fed measuring physical output itself, from factories, mines and utilities. It counts what got made, rather than what a survey reported or what the output was worth in dollars. Capacity utilization comes in the same release, an old-school gauge of inflation pressure. Markets do not move much on the print. The NBER watches it closely though, and it is one of the main inputs when a recession gets dated, which happens well after the fact.
The trend
How it moves Treasuries
Stronger production pushes Treasury yields up, modestly. The reaction is usually small unless the print falls in with a run of other surprises all pointing the same way. The 9:15 release time is odd, and it drops the number between the 8:30 data and the equity open. See it scored live on the Helious desk, or read how the standard-deviation surprise is computed.
